Gorilla Trekking Tips Rwanda.

For most visitors to Rwanda, the once in a lifetime opportunity to see the gorillas up close and personal in their natural habitat, going about their usual daily business is without a doubt  what informs their decision to travel to this beautiful land that is usually ignored by many and only associate it with its troubled genocide history. Yet Rwanda is indeed much more than just mountain gorillas. Rwanda is home to the golden monkeys, habitat to chimps, colobus monkeys, an abundance of  birding opportunities , a very rich culture and history that you will learn when you visit Butare the cultural  centre of Rwanda. If it's an African game safari that you are seeking, then Akagera will enchant you with its game and wildlife opportunities.

For visitors seeking a full blown safari experience in Masai Mara or Serengeti, Rwanda is only 2hrs flight from Kenya and Tanzania. Combine a gorilla trekking tour in Rwanda with a safari in Kenya or Tanzania or a beach holiday in Zanzibar or Ssese islands in Uganda.

If you are gorilla trekking in Rwanda, you may as well also embark on a Dian Fossey gorilla trek tour to appreciate the work carried out by the Dian Fossey gorilla fund. You will have a chance to visit the Dian fossey grave as part of their gorilla tour. Your mountain gorilla treks will be conducted by experience professional english speaking guides who will lead you into the mountain forest in search of the gorillas. The gorilla permit fee currently US$750 is valid for only 1 specific day, is non-transferrable, but is inclusive of gorilla trekking ranger guides and Volcanoes Virunga park entry fees.
